Exploring Painting and Drawing

I work at the intersection of abstraction and figuration, focusing on the instability of recognition - where fluid abstraction and structured realism converge. My paintings stage the moment when recognition begins to form — or begins to dissolve.
Some works originate as abstract fields from which a presence gradually emerges; others begin with a realized figure that may be destabilized through gesture and atmosphere. These paintings are less concerned with depicting a subject as a portrait than with exposing the act of perception itself — the impulse to locate a face, a body, or a narrative within ambiguity or recognizing the intersection of abstraction and figuration.
